Introduction
In life we all have our highs and lows, but that doesn't mean we have to give up. One of the things I realized in my 23 years of living is in order for us go grow we have to push past adversity, which could lead to you feeling your lowest. When you're down not many people know what's going on with you, and that could lead to different types of problems. But one I'm going to talk about today is losing your creative excitement.
The Beginning
Not many people address the times where our creative excitement gets taken away. It's like when you find and lose your first love. For example, being brand new in a field just trying any and everything out because we enjoy what we're doing so much. But at this time we're ignorant to the fundamentals so we mess up a lot; however, we're having fun. And along the way we're making some of the most beautiful and ugly creations that we're proud of.
Then, you start to learn more about your industry and start to become good at it, but you still have a lot more to learn. Now you're working everyday, starting to get in the hang of your routine it's fun, it's amazing, you feel that you're improving, you're starting to get more comfortable, and everything's feeling great. Also, you're making new connections, getting more clientele, collaborating with other people and your seeing your dreams finally come true. But along the way you reach the tipping point.
Tipping Point
The tipping point is the point where you have to make a decision that will change your career forever. At this point, you might be in a few different situations, you may be feeling that money is getting tighter and you need start focusing on paying your bills, which could lead you to doing things you don't want to do. Or maybe, you have a nice amount of money but your last few projects have been flops, so you have to make people believe in you again, which will require you to go inside yourself and figure out what made you great in the first place. Or you could be in a situation where you want to your job and become an entrepreneur, but you have no idea how you're going to do it.
Introspection
These moments can lead you to very deep places that will make you question a lot of things about yourself and the people around you. And when you start asking questions you might be faced with some tough answers, which could lead to you losing your drive and losing love for your career. It's becomes a point where it's not about having fun anymore and it's more about business. But you have ask yourself, are you going to be able to find a point where you regain happiness in your career?
End Notes
The goal in life is different for everyone, but we all have our character arcs where we either learn from our past and rise above, or continue the cycle by repeating the same mistakes as our mothers and fathers...
